Check out the work at Auburn University, several colleagues have pioneered
work in diamond thin film deposition and different conversion processes.
The applications of diamond coatings remain largely unexplored, most any
MEMS application for tribological properties would be new research and
development. Based on the work from Auburn and other extreme service
materials like Silicon Carbide, the materials science and physics has been
mostly completed, you just got to figure out a cost effective approach to
making product, assuming there is a market.....and all the business
stuff...Rob

Subject: [mems-talk] Diamond
Hi,
Can anyone give me some information about the feasibility of diamond as a
bearing material, particularly the cost of fabrication etc. Any good links
would be helpful.
Thank you
