A quick and cheap way to make a hydrophobic surface is to dip it into an
octadecyltrichlorosilane (OTS) solution for a few seconds. If you wish to
selectively modify the surface then you should use PDMS stamping technique:
attach that OTS onto the PDMS surface then stamp the PDMS mold onto your metal
surface.
