One random data point: as a first year grad student I naively used
some Scotch tape to stick two pieces of glass together during ITO
sputtering. It got hot enough to make the tape bubble and partially
melt. I never checked the temperature (I just switched to Kapton) but
be aware that it's likely to be get hot.
