I am doing some research on guaranteed life electronics, trying to
analyse the effects they have on   costs and time for maintenance of a
system (such as an aircraft). I am looking for a way to fairly compare a
system with guaranteed life components and a system with standard
(mean-time between failure) components. Does anyone know of any research
done in this area?
