NASA New Millennium (NM) Program
The New Millennium (NM) Program, led by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, has the
objective of developing REVOLUTIONARY technology for space exploration in the
next century. In the spacecraft world, the word "revolutionary" primarily
indicates the reduction of size of spacecraft from the conventional 100-1000 kg
down to the 1-50 kg range. MEMS is seen to be a key technology for NM
spacecraft.
