Polyimide Membranes

Hi everybody,

My problem is to build membranes made of polyimide material.
Contrary to usual applications of polyimides, we do not want to deposite
them on a substrate. What we want is to build membranes (surrounded by
air on the both surface) of one to few thousands angstroms thickness.
They will be attached to a ring used as a support for the membranes.
This ring will be typically of two centimeters large.

We would like to use polyimides because of their particularly good
mechanical properties.

Do you know if it is possible to use those products ? Which one ? What
is the method to apply ?

Thanks a lot
