LED for MEMS application

Hi,

I am trying to design a light source for our microscopy system and am
currently using a Cree super-bright green led, which is a 250um x 250um SiC
die. Since I cannot obtain larger super-bright led dies I am trying to mount
a number of these dies in a single package and thereby increase the
intensity of the light source. This is a somewhat tedious task since the
leds are manufactured on a wafer scale and it should be possible to purchase
custom-sized dies. I would like to know whether it is possible to purchase
relatively large (~1mmx1mm) green or blue led dies. Does anyone have any
information regarding this? I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you,

Salil Desai
