The Commercialization of Microsystems
September 11-16, 1994
Banff Conference Center
Banff, Canada
This conference is devoted entirely to the commercial aspects of MEMS and
supporting technologies. There will be formal and informal discussions,
tutorials on microsystems technologies, and an open session and exhibit.
The Organizing Committee members are Wolfgang Ehrfeld, iMM; Hirojuki Fujita,
University of Tokyo; Kaigham Gabriel, ARPA; James Jara-Almonte, IfM; Karen
Markus, MCNC; John Meyer, NIST; Herbert Moser, KfK; Robert Warrington, IfM; and
Mark Zdeblick, Redwood Microsensors. The conference chairs are James
Jara-Almonte and Robert Warrington. The conference is co-sponsored by the
Dynamic Systems and Controls Division of ASME, and in technical cooperation
with the IEEE Electron Devices Society.

MUMPs Users Workshop
In order to facilitate user interaction, MCNC and ARPA are sponsoring a one-day
workshop for the user community of the Multi-User MEMS Process (MUMPs). The
Workshop will provide past, present and future MUMPs users with a chance to
gather and interact with each other and the MCNC staff.
The Workshop is scheduled for Friday, October 21, 1994 from 8 am to 5 pm at the
O'Hare Airport Hilton in Chicago, Illinois. The Workshop is free and breakfast
and lunch will be provided.
