I was extremely dissatisfied with the service I got from Photronics after they
took over Micromask.  I asked for a clear field mask.  What they gave me had a
chrome border that ran into and was contiguous with my features, rendering the
mask useless.  When I complained I was told something to the effect that the
mask was made my specifications.  Further calls went unanswered.

Photronics apparently has a different definition of "clear field" then the
former Micromask, or any other mask maker I have used since.

Since the demise of Micromask, I have been using Photo Sciences for my high
resolution photomasks and have been very happy with their service.

For inexpensive lower resolution masks I would recommend HTA Photomask.
