Hello.  My name is Dan Gryboski, and I am a graduate student in Mechanical
Engineering at the University of Colorado, Boulder.  I am doing a project
in which I will try to measure the RPMs of running MEMS, thus enabling
closed loop control.
I am using a fiber optic sensor, but it is 300 microns in diameter, and
the motor is about 100 microns in diameter.  I would very much appreciate
any advice on closed loop control of MEMS or any information about smaller
fiber optic sensors.  Also, I was wondering if anyone has tried this
before.
