James,
On an semi-unrelated subject....my ESEM has EDS capability which can
point-map gold in the target. If this is something that might be of
interest to you let me know. I've coupled a video capture system to my ESEM
so that I can send the output to DVD, CD, or web accessible library file.
I'm now doing this as a service with delivery in as little as SAME DAY.

Subject: [mems-talk] Cyanide Gold Electro winning Recovery
Good Day my name is James Walker. I have seen several messages on the
internet where you have given good advice concerning gold recovery an I
wanted to ask for a little help for myself. I am attempting to reclaim gold
from semiconductor manufacturing equipment spare parts. I have constructed
a polypro tank that is heated ~123F and it also has a recirculation pump. I
have mounted a electro winning cell in the above tank. I recirculate a
cyanide solution (Technistrip-Au) through the winning cell (SS plates serve
as cathode and anode) that has a voltage set at about 5.6v @90 amps. The
technistrip solution strips the gold OK, however when I attempt to reclaim
the gold thru the winning cell, I don't seem to get any deposition. At the
start of the winning process the technistrip solution is yellowish, but
after running the winning cell the solution has turned a dark red (prune
juice). I am assuming that the color change is due to cyanide destruction
via the winning cell.
Technistrip is a solution of potassium cyanide and oxidizers)
